Acrylic resins & vinyl dispersion

BRADCOM offers a selected range of acrylic, methacrylic and vinyl monomers for the production of resins and dispersions used in paints, coatings, adhesives and industrial applications. From core monomers to functional building blocks for crosslinkable binders, our portfolio supports the development of polymers with different requirements in terms of hardness, flexibility, adhesion and resistance. The range also includes selected solvents for resins and solution-based formulations.

Raw materials for resin synthesis

Methyl methacrylate – MMA

Monomer used in the production of acrylic resins and dispersions for coatings and adhesives. It contributes to polymer hardness and glass transition temperature, balanced by the use of comonomers that provide flexibility.

Butyl acrylate – BA

Acrylic monomer used in the production of dispersions and resins for paints, coatings and adhesives. It provides flexibility to the polymer and promotes film formation in dispersion-based systems, depending on the binder composition.

Acrylic acid – AA

Functional monomer that introduces carboxylic groups into the polymer. It is used in acrylic resins and dispersions to tailor adhesion, neutralisation behaviour and colloidal stability, according to the process and formulation requirements.

Vinyl acetate monomer – VAM

Core monomer for the production of polyvinyl acetate dispersions and vinyl copolymers. It is used in binders for adhesives, paints and coatings, with performance characteristics determined by the choice of comonomers and stabilisation system.

Functional monomers for crosslinkable resins

2-Hydroxyethyl methacrylate – HEMA

Methacrylic monomer that introduces hydroxyl groups into acrylic resins. Used in the production of crosslinkable binders for industrial coatings, it enables subsequent reaction with compatible crosslinkers, including polyisocyanates in two-component polyurethane systems.

2-Hydroxyethyl acrylate – HEA

Hydroxyl-functional acrylic monomer for the synthesis of functional resins used in coatings and adhesives. It introduces reactive sites for crosslinking, enabling film performance to be tailored through polymer composition and the selected curing system.

Hydroxypropyl methacrylate – HPMA

Hydroxyl-functional methacrylic monomer used in the production of crosslinkable acrylic resins. It is used in binders for industrial finishes where adhesion, chemical resistance and mechanical properties are developed through subsequent crosslinking.

Hydroxypropyl acrylate – HPA

Functional acrylic monomer for resins and copolymers containing hydroxyl groups. Used in the development of crosslinkable binders for coatings and adhesives, according to the reactivity and performance requirements of the system.

Solvents for resins and solution-based coatings

Methyl ethyl ketone – MEK

Solvent used for the dissolution and viscosity adjustment of compatible acrylic resins. Its fast evaporation rate makes it suitable for solvent blends used in coatings and adhesives where short drying times are required.

Ethyl 3-ethoxypropionate – EEP

Slow-evaporating solvent for industrial coatings based on compatible acrylic resins. It contributes to the control of flow, levelling and open time, promoting a uniform finish under the required application conditions.

Dipropylene glycol dimethyl ether – DMM

Solvent used in the production and formulation of compatible solution-based acrylic systems. It can be used to adjust viscosity and the evaporation profile of the solvent blend.
