Polyurethanes & polyureas
BRADCOM offers a selected range of diols, intermediates and reactive amines for the production of polyurethanes and polyureas used in elastomers, coatings, adhesives and sealants. From building blocks for polyester polyol synthesis to chain extenders and crosslinkers, our portfolio supports the development of systems with different requirements in terms of hardness, elasticity and mechanical performance. The range also includes selected solvents for processing and solution-based formulations.

Raw materials for polyurethane synthesis
1,4-Butanediol – 1,4-BDO
Key diol used as a chain extender in the production of thermoplastic polyurethanes and polyurethane elastomers. It contributes to the formation of hard segments within the polymer, influencing mechanical properties and hardness. It is also used in the synthesis of polyester polyols.
1,6-Hexanediol – 1,6-HDO
Diol used in the production of polyester polyols and as a chain extender in specific polyurethane systems. It enables polymer structure and the balance between flexibility and strength to be tailored, with applications in coatings, adhesives and elastomers.
Adipic acid
Key raw material for the synthesis of polyester polyols used in polyurethanes. In combination with selected diols, it enables the production of intermediates for elastomers, TPU, adhesives and coatings with different mechanical and processing characteristics.
Reactive amines for polyureas and elastomers
Polyetheramine D2000
High-molecular-weight polyether diamine used as an amine component in polyurea systems. It introduces flexible segments into the polymer structure, contributing to the elasticity of protective coatings, membranes and elastomers.
Polyetheramine T5000
High-molecular-weight polyether triamine used in the formulation of crosslinked polyurea and elastomeric systems. It combines flexible polyether segments with three reactive amine end groups, enabling crosslink density and the mechanical behaviour of the material to be tailored.
Diethyltoluenediamine – DETDA
Aromatic diamine used as a chain extender in polyurea systems and as a curing agent for isocyanate-terminated polyurethane prepolymers. It is used in coatings and elastomers requiring mechanical strength and wear resistance, with reactivity depending on the specific system.
Polyetheramine D230
Low-molecular-weight polyether diamine used in specific polyurea and hybrid systems. Compared with long-chain polyetheramines, it introduces shorter segments between reactive groups, enabling the structure and properties of the polymer network to be tailored.
Synthesis intermediates and modifiers
Neopentyl glycol – NPG
Diol used in the synthesis of polyester polyols for polyurethane coatings, adhesives and elastomers. Its structure contributes to the hydrolytic stability of the polyester component, depending on the acids used and the overall binder composition.
Trimethylolpropane – TMP
Trifunctional polyol used in the synthesis of branched polyester polyols and as a crosslinking component in specific polyurethane systems. It enables functionality and network structure to be controlled, tailoring the balance between rigidity and elasticity.
Thermoplastic polyurethanes
Thermoplastic polyurethane – TPU
Thermoplastic polymer used in the production of technical components, footwear, cables and films. It combines elasticity with abrasion resistance, with performance characteristics depending on the specific grade. Grade selection is based on hardness, processing technology and required end-use performance.
Solvents for solution-based polyurethanes
N,N-Dimethylformamide – DMF
Polar solvent used in the preparation and processing of specific solution-based polyurethanes. It is used in processes for coated textiles, synthetic materials and membranes, depending on polymer solubility and the selected production technology.
Methyl ethyl ketone – MEK
Solvent for compatible polyurethane adhesives and coatings. Used to adjust viscosity and solids content, it contributes to the evaporation profile of solvent blends and the drying behaviour of the applied product.
Ethyl 3-ethoxypropionate – EEP
Slow-evaporating solvent for compatible polyurethane coatings. It enables open time and film levelling to be tailored; in isocyanate-containing systems, moisture control and the specifications of the selected grade are critical.
