Raw materials for resin synthesis
Neopentyl glycol – NPG
Key glycol for the synthesis of polyester resins used in powder coatings, coil coatings and industrial finishes. It contributes to the balance between hardness and flexibility, as well as resistance to weathering, chemicals and moisture.
Purified terephthalic acid – PTA
Core raw material for polyester resins used in powder coatings, often in combination with NPG. It is widely used in binders for coatings applied to metal components, appliances and other industrial surfaces, contributing to the hardness and resistance of the finished coating.
Purified isophthalic acid – PIA
Raw material for polyester resins used in industrial coatings, coil coatings and exterior powder coatings. It is particularly relevant in systems requiring durability and resistance to weathering, moisture and chemicals.
Trimethylolpropane – TMP
Polyol used in the synthesis of polyester resins for coil coatings, liquid coatings and powder coatings. It enables the degree of resin branching and its crosslinking capability to be tailored according to the required performance characteristics.
Adipic acid
Raw material for polyesters and polyester polyols used in coatings, adhesives and polyurethane systems. It complements the aromatic acids in our portfolio, broadening the range of building blocks available for the synthesis of binders with different application and performance requirements.
Coating pigmentation and finishing
Titanium dioxide – TiO₂
White pigment for polyester-based powder coatings and liquid coatings. It contributes to opacity, whiteness and the overall colour performance of the finished coating. Grade selection depends on the formulation system, processing requirements and the exposure conditions of the coated component.
Intermediates for specific resin chemistries
1,6-Hexanediol – 1,6-HDO
Diol used in polyester resins for coatings and adhesives. It enables the balance between hardness and flexibility, adhesion and hydrolysis resistance to be tailored according to the structure of the binder.
1,4-Butanediol – 1,4-BDO
Intermediate for the synthesis of polyesters and polyester polyols. It complements our range of diols for manufacturers developing specific binders and intermediates for polyurethane systems.
Propylene glycol – PG
Glycol used in the synthesis of specific saturated polyester resins for coatings. It complements the other raw materials in our portfolio for systems in which its use is required, including binders for metal coatings.
Pentaerythritol
Multifunctional polyol used in the synthesis of specific branched polyester resins. It broadens binder design possibilities for manufacturers using this building block in their coating systems.
Solvents for resins and liquid coatings
Methyl ethyl ketone – MEK
Solvent used for the dissolution and dilution of compatible polyester resins. Its use is determined by the binder chemistry and the solvent blend required by the formulation.
Ethyl 3-ethoxypropionate – EEP
Solvent for solvent-borne industrial coatings, including polyester-based formulations. Its controlled evaporation profile promotes film flow and levelling, contributing to high-quality surface finishes according to the requirements of the coating system.
Dibasic esters – DBE
Solvents for resins and industrial coatings, with applications in coil coatings and sheet-metal finishes. They can be incorporated into solvent blends for polyester-based systems, depending on binder compatibility and application process requirements.
Dipropylene glycol dimethyl ether – DMM
Process and formulation solvent for compatible systems. It can be used in esterification processes and in the formulation of industrial coatings, complementing our solvent offering for resin manufacturers and coating formulators.
