Paints, coatings & inks formulations

BRADCOM offers a selected range of titanium dioxide and solvents for the formulation of paints, coatings and inks. From pigmentation to the control of viscosity and evaporation profile, our portfolio addresses the needs of formulators developing products for decorative and industrial applications. Raw material selection is determined according to the binder system, application process and required finish characteristics.

Pigmentation and opacity

Titanium dioxide – TiO₂

White pigment for paints, coatings and white or opaque inks. It contributes to opacity, whiteness and colour performance. Grade and surface treatment selection depend on the formulation system and its requirements for dispersion, gloss and resistance to exposure.

Solvents for formulation

Methyl ethyl ketone – MEK

Fast-evaporating solvent for coatings and inks based on compatible binders. Used for resin dissolution and viscosity adjustment, it contributes to product drying and the balance of solvent blends.

Isopropyl alcohol – IPA

Alcohol solvent used in inks and as a co-solvent in compatible formulations. It enables viscosity, wetting and evaporation to be adjusted, with applications in flexographic and gravure printing inks depending on the binder system and printing process.

Ethyl 3-ethoxypropionate – EEP

Slow-evaporating solvent for industrial coatings and formulations based on compatible resins. It helps control open time and film levelling, contributing to film uniformity and surface finish quality.

Dibasic esters – DBE

Blends of dimethyl esters of dibasic acids used as slow-evaporating solvents in compatible formulations. They contribute to solvency and evaporation control in industrial coatings, with the composition of the blend determining the characteristics of the specific grade.

Dipropylene glycol dimethyl ether – DMM

Aprotic ether solvent for coatings and inks based on compatible binders. Used in solvent blends to adjust solubility, viscosity and drying behaviour according to the requirements of the application system.

Components for specific formulations

Benzyl alcohol
Solvent and formulation component particularly relevant to epoxy coatings and amine curing agents. It contributes to viscosity reduction and processability, with its effects on crosslinking and final properties to be evaluated according to the system and dosage.

Propylene glycol – PG
Component for water-based formulations, used as a humectant and to adjust open time and low-temperature behaviour. It is used in compatible water-based paints and inks, with dosage determined according to application and drying requirements.
